Visitors to the exhibition will find a selection of recent oil paintings, painted from life, including portraits, nudes, still lifes and landscapes. The exhibition highlights Thibodeaux's specialty: portraits. She paints her subjects from life using the "alla prima" technique, in which paint is applied directly to the canvas and worked wet in wet. "Portraits and Landscapes in Oil" features the recent works of this New Orleans native who has recently made Capitol Hill her home.

UPDATE: My bad, I confused Studio H Gallery with Gallery O/H (in the 1300 block of H Street, and also opening soon). The address for this event is 408a H Street. Apologies.

Anon 2:27- It clearly states in the text of this post and on the gallery website that their address is:

    408a H Street, NE

  3. Yes, "no trouble reading", the invite says 408a H Street NE. But the lead in to the story -- the text at the top -- refers to the gallery being in the 1300 block. So the confusion is understandable, and your snippiness unwarranted.

  4. Hello all, I am the gallery owner at Studio H. I would like to clarify a couple of things.

    1. We were NOT the party that was going to open a gallery on the 1300 block of H ST NE.

    2. The gallery is at 408a H ST NE (2nd floor) and the inaugural show will be on Saturday October 17, 2009 from 6-8pm

Thank you for your interest and hope to see you all over the years.
