I don't know what it is but kid's fashion shows disturbs me on so many levels. I don't have kids so maybe I'm missing something here. I feel like you're sending little kids a message that says it's okay to be materialistic and shallow.
These photos seem to be mostly fun and age-appropriate, but little kid beauty pageants are creepy. When they are made up like little 8 year old whores, caked with adult makeup, walking and pouting in a come-hither sexual way. That just ain't right.
The owner of the Kids Spa Fashions shows are always adorable. But I think this year her Pink and White Fsahion show was the best. All the kids was tooo cute.
These photos from Brightest Young Things should keep everybody happy. http://www.brightestyoungthings.com/style/photos-dc-fashion-week-smorgesborg/
Amazing to see the H Street Festival paired with the French Embassy in a fashion spread. H Street has come a long way, huh? There are photos of the "guys in underwear," great photos of a beautiful hairdo from one of H Street's own salons, and more shots of the kids' show.
Thanks to DC Fashion Week for kicking off the festivities again at the H Street Festival.
I don't think it's creepy. They're kids. Everything is age-appropriate. Did any of you actually see the fashion show? It was a bunch of kids having a great time, dancing up the runway to the cheesy radio rap and r&b that all the local kids go crazy over. oh, that's more of a dis to the rap they played than the beyonce tune they played, by the way.
Guys, please be polite. Remember that these people are your neighbors. I ask also that anonymous users leave some kind of tag [e.g. big green cat] for the sake of being able to follow a thread. Be respectful and have fun.
I want to see pictures of the guys modeling underwear. What a bunch of nice lookers. Universal Gear should be jealous.
ReplyDeleteI hear you. Maybe you'll get to see that at Sunday's march.
ReplyDeleteCreepy.

And that is a good thing to try and project a "sexy" image at that age. These things are just gross, no way of getting around it.
ReplyDeletethought the photo's of the children were cute, especially the last photo. I would buy that outfit for niece to wear to a birthday party.
ReplyDeleteI don't find anything creepy about children modeling children's clothes. I would find it creepy if grown women were wearing these clothes.
commenting on guys modeling men's underwear on a post about a children's fashion show is creepy to me.
I find right-wing judgemental people who take a humerous blog post about men in their underware way too serious to be creepy.
ReplyDeleteThe kids are adorable

ReplyDeleteAnyone see the new South Park this week? The pageant Ike was in is reminiscent of this creepiness.
ReplyDeleteThat's ignorant, you guys are being ignorant....
