What a great family and a great business. Such a nice addition to the street. I am sure they will get a liquor license and do even better now...........

Good luck!!!!

I agree that it is a wonderful place, but it is basically a carryout. I wonder why ANC6A enforcer zoning Richie Luna isn't in their shorts with a camera, and dragging them to the zoning Commission and doing the DCRA hassle. The difference in treatment is one reason why the CluckU treatment looks like racism

Souk is a decent Moroccan restaurant, which like most restaurants has as take out menu. Cluck-U (although some have tables) is fast food franchise (http://www.cluckuchicken.com/aboutclucku.htm). There really is a difference. Racism exists, I’m sure, but let’s not over do it.

Cluck-U had the same model that Taylor Gourmet has: A place with multiple locations where you order at counter and take out or order at the counter and sit.

Now I totally agree that Cluck-U was NOT what Taylor IS in terms of atmosphere and food quality but I ate there several times (both inside and take out) and it was certainly not the menace to H Street that it continues to be made out as. The place was clean and the wings were TASTY.

It's funny but I have a friend in NYC who used to be an ANC member in Dupont. Every time I see him he still laughs about the dust up that was Cluck-U and asks if people are still talking about it. Yes they are Darren, yes they are...

What exactly was the "Cluck U treatment"? I thought the owner simply converted the place into XII.
