Press release:

H Street Country Club to Host DC Public Schools Fundraiser
February 27th

Day-long event will incorporate elementary students, families, teachers
and community

Washington, DC – Saturday, February 27th, H Street Country Club will host an early event rewarding local DC Public Schools (DCPS) elementary students for improvements in the classroom. Children from the Payne and Maury Elementary Schools will enjoy the indoor mini-golf course, games, drinks, and snacks from 11a.m. - 3p.m. Parents will also be recognized for high percentage attendance of parent/teacher conferences prior to an all-night event to collect funds and new books for local schools.

Starting at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27th, all guests visiting the H Street Country Club can donate a new, unused children's book or $10. In return for each donation, patrons will get a free drink ticket and will have a chance to meet local school administrators and register for the many DCPS volunteer opportunities available. All proceeds collected that night will benefit the DC Public Education Fund.

"We're elated to partner with DCPS and the DC Public Education Fund. We've received a wonderful response from the DC community since our opening last May and hope to work with our neighbors time and time again in the future," says owner Joe Englert.

The DC Public Education Fund’s mission is to dramatically improve student achievement in the District of Columbia by serving as a strategic partner to businesses, foundations, community leaders, and individual donors in supporting and investing in high-impact programs with the District of Columbia Public Schools. This work includes attracting critical funding resources, managing key public-private partnerships, and acting as fiscal sponsor for all grants made on behalf of DC Public Schools. Nice to see a small business getting involved with the schools. I heard they are also giving 20% sales to Watkins elementary on certain family nights
