Great! Can't wait to try it, I love seeing new establishments come to H. Biergarten Haus says coming in March on their website... Any word from them? How about Vendetta, Toki Underground, Tonic, Star and Shamrock, the Ethiopian place, BBQ coal house place, etc. Anybody hear any good things?

I walked by there on the way to taylors today. They had the fire ovens up and running. The inside is totally done, tables are set with cloths. Looks to be ready to open very soon. Their website menu is updated though the home page is still lorum epsum...

Yum! Can't wait to get me some Lorem Ipsum!

I heard a rumor that this "Liberty Tree" must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots. I'd like to patronize this establishment, but I have a preschooler, and frankly that sounds a little off-putting. Can anyone tell me if there's truth to this?

Thanks!

I certainly hope their Lorem Ipsum is locally and sustainably sourced. At the very least it should be free-range and organic.

Based on the crowds on H st these weekends, the sooner the better for Liberty Tree to open.

There were so many people on H on Saturday night looking for food that everybody had waits of over 1 to 2 hours.

Great for business, bad for the hungry.

I'm not complaining though...it's wild seeing what's happend over the last 5 years.

Remember when Phish Tea was our only sit down option?!

Oh my god! Phish Tea was THE WORST!! Friends and I went there once, just after I moved to the area in late 2004, before the Argo et al opened. Terrible service, terrible food, bizarre atmosphere.

We have come so far since then!

oboe, I believe it was Patrick Henry who said that a occasionally a slice from the Tree of Liberty must be washed down with the birch beer of tyrants.

looks like the construction on H street is actually bringing in patrons rather than keeping them away. 2 years from now we might long for the old days when H street wasn't so busy.

Me & the missus went out on Saturday night for a bite before going to see a show. We stopped in at Sticky Rice at 6:30pm and were told there would be an HOUR WAIT for a table. The more the merrier, the sooner the better.

once we really get the corridor rolling, there should be enough spots open where the wait will be lesser....we gleefully hope?

anyone see the story that the DCPS graduation rate ticked up three percentage points to 72%? hope that number keeps ticking upward...another good sign for the future...

(after i typed this, someone yelled outside my window "tyrone, you punk!" lol...the more things change...)

By the way, when I click on the Liberty Tree link at the top of the story, Avast! anti-virus throws up a virus/worm warning. Probably a false-positive, but if someone from Liberty Tree is monitoring these comments, you may want to flag it for your webhost/developer.

Well.. the more dining establishments there are... the more people there will be especially with the trolley coming eventually! Just look at Adams Morgan... we can never serve enough people ;)

Seems like Liberty Tree is now open. I saw people having dinner this evening when I walked past.

They are not open, they are still getting ready to open by testing some stuff out on family and friends. It's close, but it wont be ready in the next few days, so remain patient and you'll see something great soon.

They are open all this week. We went there for dinner last night. It was really good.

Brussel Sprouts Salad
Stuffed Peppers
G Special Pizza
Veggie Pot Pie
& a Ice Cream Sunday

All delicious, staff was real friendly...can't wait to go back

Regarding the DCPS graduation rate....unfortunately, that rate only captures the percentage of SENIORS who graduate. It is NOT the percentage of total students entering high school that graduate. There are a WHOLE BUNCH of kids who never get to 12th grade.

Went by for the soft opening last night and tried most of the menu. All I can say is WOW...The clams casino pizza and pigs in a blanket are fantastic, as well as the lobster roll, clam chowder, try the roasted beet salad, YUM

Just went there with my kids. The service was superb, the pizza good, and the beer and wine list good. All in all a great and most welcome addition to H St. To think that ten years ago when I first moved in here, I would never even have gone down the one block from my house to H st, and now? amazing.
