I love you but I've chosen American Idol.
I LOVE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR SOVA
Sticky Rice is the worst. The service is awful. Its stuff like this that makes me want to move back to the suburbs. Man I hate the city some times.
That sucks off topic Anon 3:10. I'm sorry to hear that a sushi restaurant is ruining your life. Maybe you should try Taylor or Sova instead.
my great grand pappy was killed by sticky rice, or was it slippery elm? maybe it was sloppy seconds. anyway let's bulldoze H st. and move out to fairfax! that'll teach em for mixing up my order.
Inkied - Taylor is closed today and I dont know anything about Sova.
I should probably take back my statement. I've been trapped inside by the snow for the past 5 days, the food in my cabinet is running out so I wanted something from H Street. Apparently so did everyone else - Sticky Rice was packed. I think the cabin fever and hunger combined to make me say things I wouldnt say with a clear head. I wont go as far as apologizing because I thinking waiting an hour for food is unacceptable.
Ro - I would go back to Fairfax if I could *sigh* When I lived there, I took for granted that grocery stores actually had fresh produce that wasnt wilted and random men didnt come up to me trying to sell me books of stamps. Men standing outside the door wouldnt try to sell me bootleg movies. Oh oh or my favorite, locking up the body wash in CVS.
On the positive side, The Office, Real Housewives, America's Best Dance Crew, Making the Stage, and Project Runway are all on TV tonight. I'm like a fat kid in a candy store tonight!
My highjacking of this thread is done. I sincerely apologize for it Inked.
i feel your pain anon. living in this area can certainly test your patience at times, but i'll take DC and H st over fairfax any day> i mean where else can you buy stamps on the street? you'd rather stand in line for an hour at the post office, hmmm? and bootleg DVDs being sold at your doorstep! that's better than netflix. decades ago, before the war of nothern aggression, my great great great grand pappy used to have to walk 25 miles in the snow to get his dvds. viva la H st! and viva la frozen tropics! no who the hell just broke into my car...
3:10,
no worries. We all have a bit of cabin fever. Many of the places on H Street are severely short staffed right now (people can't get to work) and low on ingredients because they can't get deliveries. The same scene is actually playing out all over DC. It's DC's snowiest winter ever recorded, so I think we can cut people a small break.
The Argo was open for lunch today. They only had a couple of types of sandwiches, french fires, and bottled beer, until more supplies got delivered later.
Anyway, the waitress was nice, and I didn't hear any of the customers complain. I know that some of my neighbors are going there tonight. I hope they got some deliveries this afternoon.
Anon,
There are lots of places on H Street other than Sticky Rice (which is ALWAYS packed, snow or not). You should wander a block or so east and see what you find.
