Voting Thursday

A volunteer contacted me offering to give rides to those who need assistance getting to Thursday night's ANC 6A meeting in order to vote in the special election. Details:

In an effort to support Drew Ronnenberg's bid for ANC 6A02 Commissioner, we'd like to help people get to the polls! If you'd like a ride to or from Miner Elementary on the 11th, please call Scott: 202.460.7461.
Voting is from 7:10-8:10pm.

Tomorrow or Thursday?

There are conflicting reports on this page.

What would we all be saying if the Post did something like this?

The election is Thursday. Sorry, the snow days have thrown my schedule off.

Anon, we'd probably post the same question you posted, but without the snide comment comparing a single blogger working for free to a giant newspaper with hundreds of paid staff.

i heard an ugly rumor that the election might be postponed due to the weather...i don't think that's a good idea for obvious reasons

The obvious reasons are?

Anon 3:47 was right. I posted it as tomorrow. The snow threw me off. He/she wasn't trolling. If the election is delayed, it is due to weather.

I'll cast my vote for the politician who promises to push the city to fine those businesses who still, today, had not removed the snow from their sidewalks on H (ahem, Auto Zone).

Rob - that's a good point. I haven't made it down to H yet. We need a "hall of shame" for H St. businesses who can't be bothered to shovel their sidewalks.

Jaybeas, everyone makes mistakes. That's the point. But I seem to recall people on this blog ranting about how much they hate sloppiness, etc. Maybe next time they will remember about glass houses, etc.

Perhaps a stupid question but, as long as we registered to vote for the Presidential election in Nov can we vote for this ANC election or is it a seperate registration process? Sorry for my naivete....

If you voted for president in DC,and you live with the ANC 6A02 boundary then you can vote in this special election. The school will be closed, so they will have to postpone the election.
