Who is Open/Opening Today

I expect most of the bars to be open (advertised snow specials and all). So far I know that the following are open today (this is a non-exhaustive list, other places may be open):

the Argonaut,
Sova,
Rock and Roll Hotel,
H Street Country Club  - food  from taqueria menu only,
Doctor Granville's,
the Pug,
Sticky Rice,
the Red and the Black,
Palace of Wonders,
Little Miss Whiskey's,
Jimmy Valentine's Lonely Hearts Club.

Sidamo, Taylor, and Sullivan's are closed. I expect many concerts, performances, and dj events to be canceled, so call first.

Shovel, salt, stumble to a friend's or a local business, but please do not attempt to drive. The Post has breaking news updates on the storm, which has left 196,000 people without power.

The number of people without power is now up to 210,000. Aren't you glad you aren't one of them?

  6. To point out what should be obvious: look at the number of places that opened against steep challenges that are locally-owned small businesses.
These places have invested in our community and they were here when we wanted and needed them.
Please remember that when you shop, eat, and seek good entertainment after the snow melts.
Support them. They make Capitol Hill the best!

  7. Went out to The Pug, Sticky Rice, and Little Miss Whiskey's last night and had a blast. People were super friendly despite being short-staffed. I definitely need to venture down H-Street more often.

Guys, please be polite. Remember that these people are your neighbors. I ask also that anonymous users leave some kind of tag [e.g. big green cat] for the sake of being able to follow a thread. Be respectful and have fun.
