I love the idea - but why so much for the opera and only $11 for the dead? I would be more apt to go if the price is on par with other cinema experiences.

I'm speculating here but since $20 is the standard price of high def re-broadcasts of live events (STC's re-broadcast of plays from the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Met's opera re-broadcasts, etc) I imagine that's a price proven to work for these "movies"

It's certainly a cheap alternative to traveling to Moscow, London, NYC, etc and paying upwards of $100 for the live experience.

It could also have to do with royalties and/or the cost of the high def equipment. If you've been to one of these movies, you know that the fidelity and the picture resolution is really fantastic.

I think $20 is a good value for this (and I am a devotee of the $1 Monday movie at Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse!)

Does the ticket price include marijuana for that true "Dead" experience?

You can volunteer to usher at the Atlas, and get two free tickets to almost any performance. Talk to Ms Jones in the box office

It's unfortunate that these are just rentals and not Atlas programs. Though, if people like them and come, maybe the company will keep renting the Atlas.
