First up…
Tune in to CNN tomorrow morning. Sometime between 6 – 9 am (sorry, I don’t have a more specific time window yet) Tommy will be featured on CNN’s American Morning show to talk about streetcars coming to H Street and Benning Road NE. A national story with a local flavor…
Then, tune in (and call in) to Kojo at lunch…
Tommy will be on WAMU’s Politics Hour tomorrow from 12:30 – 1:00 pm to talk streetcars in DC. Tune in at 88.5 FM, or stream it online at www.wamu.org. Call into the show at 1-800-433-8850 or send your email/comment in advance to kojo@wamu.org (phone calls are better!).
Finally, get on the Trolley with Tommy…
End your day with a tour of the new streetcar on display downtown at 5:30 pm. After the tour, hop on board for a special trolley ride back to the H Street Corridor for a happy hour special event at SOVA Espress & Wine (1359 H Street NE). Check out @HstreetDC on Twitter to see all the food and drink specials at many of restaurants and bars on H Street. Check out all the details (as well as other ways to get to the downtown display) at: http://bit.ly/cPxWO2. No reservation required!
Damn! The guy is all over the streetcars. And none too soon. We are about to make history folks. It's been decades since streetcars rolled down the avenues of DC, but it's set to happen soon. H Street will on the front lines. Tommy Wells is on the front lines. If you live in Wards 5, or 7, make sure your Councilmember is there with him. We're making history here folks!

Can't make any history until the District allocates money to buy horses to pull the streetcars.
The streetcar display downtown is great, but H Street Main Street, Tommy Wells, and the businesses on H decided to throw a party to celebrate over on OUR side of town.
We've hire a real, moving trolley car from Old Town Trolley, that will shuttle residents from H Street to the Streetcar display and back.
The Trolley will depart the front of the Atlas Performing Arts Center at 4 PM and again at 5 PM. It will return at 4:30 AND 5:30. We've asked the Trolley to stop in front of Toyland if there are those who wish to get on or off at the West end of the Street.
There will be a program at the downtown streetcar display at 5:30 with Tommy Wells, Kwame Brown, DDOT Director Gabe Klein and others. We can all ride the H Street Trolley with them back to H Street at about 6:30 to enjoy H Street for the evening.
The restaurants and bars are offering Happy Hour Streetcar Specials. Kids are welcome, and there are many great places to have dinner and enjoy some music and fun.
Come celebrate the continuing renaissance of H Street!
It's an election year so Tommy notices streetcars and H street. It's all form and no substance. For the past 4 years he has done nothing for NE except coddle our young criminal class, and add a plastic bag tax.
to anon 4:08,
Not true, he also started a twitter account.
Yeah, Tommy definitely got lucky that he didn't get a serious opponent or his neglect of the north side of his district might have really come back to haunt him.
Why don't one of you anonymous critics cowboy up and run against him?
to Charles,
Because I have real job.
ugh social workers helping troubled kids instead of listening to me complain about the dearth of Trader Joes, time for Tommy to go. I'd run but I'm an important captain of industry
Well, lets get to it. In 2006 Tommy Wells, as well as Marion Barry, (Kwame) Brown, Jim Graham, Phil Mendelson and Tommy Thomas introduced the Enhanced Professional Security Amendment Act of 2006. It gives a FIVE YEAR SUSPENION to any Special Police Officer (NOT MPD) convicted of a misdemeanor. These people won't pass legislation on their own behavior, but they have no problem doing it to others. A Fire Fighter convicted of a DUI received a 24 hour suspenion, source Roby Chavez/FOX5. Tommy Wells and the others are no friends of the people doing security work in the District, but still they managed to get the support of SEIU. I would hope someone will run against Tommy Wells and the others and send them packing.
