Biergarten Haus: For Real This Time
They said the 11th, and they meant it. Biergarten Haus (1355 H Street) really will be open that soon. For now you can drool over the new food and drink menus. They've got twelve beers on tap, plus tons of bottled beers. They will also be serving, and I SO TOTALLY called this...Bitburger Drive (as well as the similarly non-alcoholic Haake Beck).

I never was able to be in Bavaria which why I get slightly annoyed at the slight slant towards food and drink from that region of Germany.
I want my favorite German beer to be offered.

wait - are the bars serving the fake beer all morning? I thought they could serve alcohol starting at 8 a.m.

They can start serving at 8am. But I was just mentioning the NA option (which you actually could order prior to 8am).
The food menu looks good. But everything below the soups and salads is priced on the high side for me.
I will be camping out in order to get a table for Saturday afternoon outside. I've been looking out the bar window at SOVA for a year now watching in painful detail the progress on this place. It really looks great out back.
Any chance of dogs being allowed in the garden part? Now that would be authentically German.
Will there be TVs outside? Where will the World Cup be viewed?
