POP: H Street Scuttlebutt

Prince of Petworth relates two H Street rumors:

1. Sticky Rice to expand.

2. Napa 1015 to rebuild.

I hadn't heard that about Sticky Rice, but it sounds believable. I'll call it probable.

Napa 1015, not so much. There is a new restaurant going into the space called the Atlas Room. To the best of my understanding this is a totally different team than the guys from Napa 1015.

Don't the guys from Napa 1015 own the building? Did they sell the building or are they leasing it out?

You are correct that the only tie between The Atlas Room guys and Napa is that they are leasing part of the building from the owner who was behind Napa. It should be a great addition -- PoP is correct that the kitchen will be well staffed by guys with strong cooking pedigrees. I've got a post going up on them later this week.

They own the building and were looking to lease it out...looks like success :-)

Can one of you investigative types follow up on that rumor from PoP about a year ago regarding Taqueria Distrito Federal coming to H?

That might be the best restaurant in DC

A commenter on Prince of Petworth's site said one of the Atlas room partners was formerly with Citronelle...that sounds very promising!
