To The Kind Stranger

I received this email from a reader:

Hi Inked! I have a small request to make. I'm an H st resident and faithful reader, so it occurred to me you might be able to pass along my thanks to a kind H Street stranger who helped me nab my runaway dog this afternoon. By the time I caught the big fella, the anonymous stranger had walked away. He stopped what he was doing to help me and flagged down a police officer who also took time to help. I thought maybe they might see it on FroTro and know that I appreciate their help very much. Good deeds - they happen! :) Anyway, just thought I'd ask.

Thanks and have a great weekend -

Pansons

UPDATE, OF SORTS

We found the owners (one through the blog, one through someone I saw on the street) for the past two dogs I've posted here. If your pet goes missing, or you find an animal, feel free to send an announcement and photo my way.

I hope the good neighbor does see this post. One of the things I'll tell my grandkids about this neighborhood is how great so many of my neighbors are. When our dog passed away around Christmas, people I didn't even know stopped me on the street to give their condolences. And when our new dog bolted out the front door after a squirrel, then a bird, and then another squirrel, several neighbors came running out their front door to help me, some not even putting on shoes. It seems like a small thing, but just like the folks that helped shovel during the snow storms or take turns picking up trash, it's actually a very big thing.
