I can't say I think it's worth it - their food is extremely greasy, and the latkes were burnt. The kitchen def needs some work. BOL

I think the sandwiches there are great. I've brought a number of people there and all of them have loved it.

Piggybacking on Anon 12:18, the latkes were kinda bad, and the sandwiches were very greasy. That said, I think the latter could be remedied by just asking them not to slather the bread in butter before grilling the sandwich. That's my plan for my next visit.

You can't beat the corn beef sandwich on rye with
mustard.

I was there on Thursday night. Non greasy, delicious latkes, good music and a snakebite. Have also been there for lunch twice - really friendly service and good sandwiches. I think the $10 offer is a really good deal considering how expensive even bar food has gotten everywhere.

Anon 12:57,

Yes you can. Easily! Deli City blows these sandwiches away. It's not even close.

re: Deli City:

They've got a strangely good Rueben. Creepily good considering how sub-par everything else is there. But it's a serious haul to get over to Deli City--unless you're driving.

Oh, and don't you think it's just a bit cruel to steer folks who think S&S sandwiches are greasy to Deli City? Whenever I eat there I feel like I need a gall bladder transplant. :)

Off the topic but I noticed people working on the Wig shop next to Horace and Dickies. Any news on what's going on there.

I don't like the latkes by themselves, but as a bread substitute on the reuben it's pretty good. The shepherd's pie was a tad funky (basically lamb & vegetable stew with a latke on top) but was tasty, and the reuben egg rolls are really good if you de-grease em and wait for them to cool down. Overall their food isn't bad, the $25 for $10 is a good deal.

Or blow it all on booze!

Pretty sure the sandwiches are "greasy" because they butter the bread and grill it. Solution: aks them to toast the bread instead. You can't grill unbuttered bread. It would burn.

Second Deli City's reuben in all its obscene, greasy goodness.
