CP: Selling the Future on Bladensburg Road
The City Paper discusses the condo building the Renee which is located on Bladensburg Road across from the Capital City Diner. The article mentions DC Brau, a micro brewery opening in the District, and makes in sound close by. Well, and I had to check with an authority on this, DC Brau is up by Fort Lincoln (NE DC close to the line). So, close is sort of a relative term, but it's interesting nonetheless. The guys from DC Brau recently did a brewing tutorial at Little Miss Whiskey's, so I expect they'll be down here a bit.

yeah, kind of interesting that the author never replied to my comment about that. it's a LONG way from bladensburg and eastern to this condo building
Yeah it's strange she mentions DC Brau. Honestly all she had to say instead was "Walking distance to H ST and the trolly line."
I'm happy new development is finally happening in that part of the neighborhood.
Totally off topic:
Inked, whatever happened to the group starting an H street Co-op?
Funny you should bring that topic up,you read my mind.I was looking forward to the co-op what happen to the donations ? please shed some light...
The group gave up and dissolved. I'm told that they returned all donations.
What??? I didn't get my donation back.
I also didn't get my donation back. Does anyone have any contact info for those involved so that I might see about having my money returned to me?
Here's the email about H Street Community Market refunds they sent out a few months back:

Dear H Street Community Market Members,
Thank you all for your kind words that have been received as we proceed
with dissolving the H Street Community Market. It has certainly been
rewarding to hear from you while we go through this process.
Per the original message below about refunding your $100 membership
fees, we realized, in hindsight, that our plan of mailing refunds
without hearing from each member first was not very feasible because
many people have moved. At this point, we have processed all refunds
and donations to Fresh Farm Markets from those members who have
contacted us.
[...]
If you would still like to receive a refund of your membership equity or
would like to donate it to Fresh Farm Markets Double Dollar program,
please do the following:
1. Send an email to Emily Raynor at jamaicafish@ hotmail.com
by 3/15/10.
2. In the email, please indicate if you are requesting a refund or a
donation of your funds to Fresh Farm Markets Double Dollar Program
3. Please include your current mailing address
4. Please allow a few weeks for processing.
Thank you all again for your support over the years.
Sincerely,
Emily Raynor
Treasurer, H Street Community Market

Many thanks for posting the info. Maybe the email got caught in my junk mail folder. I've emailed Emily.
Thanks for sending that info Inked. I am disappointed that they dissolved. I was really excited about a neighborhood Co-op. I am over begging corporations to come into the neighborhood to bring good food at good prices. Guess I will have to ride to GLUT in Mt. Rainier.
speaking of business on bladensburg, did edison sales go out of business?
