H&D's rocks.

1st commenter doesn't know what he/she's talking about, Blue Horseshoe loves Anacott Steel, not this "Bluestar Airlines" hussy.

H&D is great if you like fried fish and fried chicken that tastes like fried fish, if you want fried chicken that tastes like fried chicken look elsewhere.

umm...mj, you just proved you're the one who doesnt jack. could care less about your opinion on H&D's but c'mon, everyone knows i used the bluestar airlines insider call as well.

you should've waited until you got home to take a dump. just couldn't hold it huh?

What the hell are you geeks on about?

Anyway, speaking of H&D's, anyone know what is going on with the former wig shop next door? I mean anything would be better than a damn wig shop, but just curious.

Anything would be better than H&D's!

NOTHING is better than a fish sandwich or fried chicken from Horace & Dickies.

Hey...I love H&D there fish sandwhiches are the best and a great value. However, not the best for ones health.

Wow, half the posts are gone.

Awesome, maybe they'll move to Petworth.

9:02,
it's kind of obnoxious when someone highjacks a thread for non-neighborhood nonsense. So yeah, I pulled them.

H&D came in SO handy the other day. I wanted to try the new roast beef sandwich at Taylor, so I showed up there at 11:15. Closed, even though they're supposed to open at 11. Whatever. Rolled over to Philly Water Ice. Also closed. Drove over to Sullivans. Closed. By this time, it's 11:40, and Taylor's finally open, but their bread man hasn't shown up yet and they can't say when they'll be making sandwiches. So there I am with a bunch of money but nobody's there to take it so I hand it over to H&D.

I got no problem with places opening at noon or one or whatever, but if your sign says "OPEN AT X O'CLOCK" it should be open at X o'clock.

I have not eaten there yet, but what's up with the awful stench all over the neighborhood that emanates from H&D especially when the temp is over 85?

Matthew,

It is that old nasty reused grease in the fryer. We live not far away and can really tell when the grease is old as the smell is AWFUL..

Try Liberty Tree for lunch sometime Monkeyrotica

I think Mel Gibson must not have liked some of the quotes from that greedy Wall Street movie and pulled the plug on 'em. You know how he hates the Jews.

Go to any ANC6A mtg. with Raphael Marshal and you will learn from resident's (I guess I need to add both black and white to try to preempt a potential racial discussion) that H&D is NOT a good neighbor. Parking problems, trash, the odor and they don't care. Many of us (again, both black and white)immediatly around them boycott H&D and would appreciate it if other would do the same until they clean up their act. Personally I would love to see them go away, but I'm not so naive to think that would ever happen. I also realize they are as much a DC institution as Ben's Chili Bowl AND they seem to be very connected with DCPD. At the very least, they should clean up the litter, try to discourage illegal parking, and change their grease more often!

inked -- Sorry. It seemed odd because only about half the silly posts got zapped. I think those of us participating were just trying to take a work break in the afternoon. Didn't mean to cause a problem.

3:37,
I only pulled the ones that were completely unrelated. I was a tad pull happy yesterday because I had three spammers really hammer some of the older posts and I had to delete way to many viagra and loan links

And I guess it's been a while since I saw Wall Street because I missed the references.

yes, I apologize as well. I was the guilty party who started the whole thing with the first post and then got my feathers ruffled when MJ called me out (incorrectly). I had no idea it would catch fire. Blame it on the workbreak. What a bunch of slackasses we are.

Peace, love and happiness.

heh, wasn't really calling you out (should've posted as "Sir Larry"), just preferred the Anacot steel line to Bluestar Airlines and was being silly. Sorry about derailing the H&D discussion.....
