Speaking of BBQ, why don't we have more of these around here? Kenny's is not very good.

imo, capitol Q sucks even more. I kninda like the sides at Kenny's. And their pulled pork and chopped chicken are quite good.

The sweet potatoes at Kenny's are good as are some of the other sides, main courses there are hit or miss and seem to depend on where Kenny got his meat from that day. Capital Q is consistently crap, Market Lunch in Eastern Market is the only place on the Hill that I've found a consistently good BBQ sandwich.

We got some reasonably good BBQ recently from Stewarts, the trailer + smoker working the weekends at Bladensburg + South Dakota Avenue. We went there after the Post gave them a positive article in the Food section, and it was indeed pretty good.

I love the collards and the dill new potatoes at Kenny's. But yeah, the meat is pretty erratic; and the sauces are goopy and overpowering, regardless of heat level.

fat face is the best in the city and not that far of a drive. kenny's is what it is: convenient

Mr P's, which sells BBQ from a school bus in the parking lot of where Safeway used to be on Rhode Island is awesome. Great ribs.

I'll have to try that place on South Dakota.

Any body ever eat from the truck that I think I've seen in the north RFK parking lot on saturdays?

I will second the truck on South Dakota and Bladensburg. It's $10 for a plate, with 2 sides but it's a big plate.

I'd also recommend Mr P's for ribs.

and Hogs on the Hill has good pulled pork too.

I love BBQ and IMO all of places are pretty good but not amazing. Rocklands is my favorite place in DC but they are way over in Glover Park.

Still, the best BBQ is coming off of my smoker in my back yard.
