Beer week + new bike rack = my plans for tonight. Thanks Tommy! (and Washington Gas for supplying the makeshift bike racks I've been using for the last few months)
It would be great if the city would transform some of the old parking meters (now just the poles without meters attached) to bike locking stations as they have done in Philadelphia: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2194/2085628522_2097c3046f.jpg
Ink et al, sorry for the highjack, but does anyone know why construction has stopped at the old Hayes School Senior Wellness Center at 5th and K? It has been several months since a construction worker has set foot on that property. Lack of DC funds?
Speaking of bikes, see the post on the District Curmudgeon about (the lack of) bike safety at the NY Ave Metro. My experience - posted in the comments there - mirrors exactly what his experience was. Inked - it may be worth linking to this in a separate post so folks in the neighborhood who park at the Metro can be aware.

You just know that perfidious Tommy Wells was involved in this somehow!
Yes he was. Our H Street businesses asked for temporary bike racks until the permanent ones are installed. He worked with DDOT to get them delivered.
Finally!! Keep them coming!!
