Sticky Rice Delivers Lunch
Now you can get your Sticky Rice fix without leaving the house. H Street's favorite Pan-Asian restaurant now delivers Mon-Fri 12pm to 6pm. The number is 202-397-7655.

If delivery service is anything like their typical in-house service, I'm looking forward to 90-minute wait times and a smug, entitled delivery person showing the bare minimum level of interest in his/her job.
Sorry - it's Monday and Sticky Rice hasn't exactly wowed me with their customer service. It's a shame, too, because I love the food.
Who gets delivery before 6:00? Probably those weirdos who eat that meal that's in between breakfast and dinner...i think it's called brinner or dickfest or something.
So at what time do they stop taking orders for delivery? The lady was quite firm in stating that I could only pick up...this happened before she even knew what I wanted to order.
You attempted to order at 5. You clearly werent going to get the food in less than an hour. They stop DELIVERING at 6. Thus, you could not get delivery.
I've had that happen to me as well. Either it rings and rings and rings or goes straight to a voicemail that doesn't take messages (I don't think - and even if it did, it's not like I'm leaving a voicemail with my order). I think when they're really hopping (which is frequent), picking up the phone is low on their priorities list.
They make it very difficult to order take-out there. I called once on a Friday night at 8:30pm--yes, the middle of rush hour, but I figured I'd just have to wait awhile to pick up my food-maybe an hour or 90minutes. NOPE-the Soup Nazi hostess refused to let me order take-out at all. I mean not at all. Even if I wanted to wait 2 or 3 hours to pick it up.
I tried the next weekend on Saturday at 6pm--they clearly were not happy that I was trying to order take-out again, and then refused to let me use my Living Social coupon--EVEN though this prior Living Social coupon (offered in Dec. 2009) was not restricted to dine in only, as the one just issued last month was. The manager on duty said they didn't care what the coupon said, they didn't want to encourage take-out. They clearly couldn't care if I ever became their customer or not.
I still have yet to try their food, but despite all this, I'd really like to and just haven't hired a babysitter to get over there yet. Hopefully I can order delivery at 12pm some day and just sit around the house til it arrives, or maybe they'll be better about it since they seem to be marketing it as a service they'd like people to take advantage of, as opposed to their past attitudes about take-out.
Since Sticky Rice failed to mention in their press release -- There IS a $10 delivery charge. Juuust making others aware... since I had no idea before ordering.

It's basically lunch and post lunch hours. They seem to be trying to avoid getting slammed during the dinner rush.

Tried to order at 5pm, the woman who answered the phone said that they only deliver at lunch. So I guess they stop by 3pm or so.

$10 delivery charge? Seriously? That's not a minimum, but a fee tacked on to the order? That's a pretty steep charge.
Yes, an additional fee. Bill for $36 worth of food came to $50 because of a $10 delivery charge.
