East City Art: Totem Pole Raising

East City Art has more info on the Totem Poles coming to the 300 block of H Street. The totem poles, created by artist Wilfredo Valladares, reflect elements of live in the District. Only four of the poles will actually be raised at the ceremony, the rest coming later. A shaman will be present to bless the totem poles.  So take a break from the festival and walk the few block. Maybe stop by Toyland for a drink, and then head over 408a H Street for the opening of Camille Schefter's "Insoluable" at Studio H. The opening runs from 6-9pm.
