Eat Wonky Comes to H Street
Hey, we don't normally get food trucks over this way, so I was surprised to open an email from a reader alerting me that Eat Wonky would be headed our way around 10pm on Saturday night. Eat Wonky serves up food perfectly suited to a night out for a few drinks. Think hot dogs, cheese curds, grilled cheese sandwiches, and...poutine. Yes, they serve up that very Quebecois specialty that I've been saying for years ought to appear on the menu of local bars. Poutine is basically fries topped with cheese curds, and then covered in gravy. It's unhealthy, completely uncouth, and extremely delicious. Want some on top of your hot dog or grilled squeaky cheese? No problem, Eat Wonky can do that! Thanks to DCist for the heads up to the reader. Oh, please be aware that the fries are fried in peanut oil, so watch out if you're allergic.

That picture looks so good. My wife and I went to Montreal a couple of years ago, and became addicted to that slop. I love the big slice as much as everyone else, but someone could make a lot of money opening up a late night frites place on H street.
I grew up in very Northern NY State in the Adirondack Mtns. We loved ourselves some Poutine. I'm super excited to have it in DC now!
Bad things happen to you if you start eating poutine.
What specifically? You start annoying the heck out of your friends by developing an outrageous accent while constantly looking for a Tim Hortons.
wtf is a cheese curd?
Dave B: this link may help.
It's like a cupcake, but hipper.
Cheese curd
cheese curds = delicious
I'm so glad that this truck is alive!! Oh how I miss poutine!! Growing up in Toronto you can get poutine anywhere, KFC actually had a decent one. Poutine not to be mistaken for Poutain!!
*putain
