Festival Photos: Rock Opera Enthusiasts

Baltimore Rock Opera Society, originally uploaded by petitchoudc.

The crowd loved the Baltimore Rock Opera Society at the Festival, and obviously so did the photographers. This shot by petitchoudc come from the from the Frozen Tropics Flickr pool.

They seemed like a GWAR rip-off.

Well to me they seemed like a Rocky Horror ripoff, so take that.

The Baltimore Rock Opera Society's appearance at the H Street Festival was sponsored by Gallery OonH. Steve Hessler and Dolly Vehlow met them at Artscape in Baltimore and invited them to be their guests at the Festival.
This was their first-ever appearance outside Baltimore.

Their Art Car/Stage fit right in with the other Art Cars the Gallery O sponsors, and placing them in front of the Atlas tied them to the arts and entertainment scene on H Street.
They were huge crowd pleasers and very entertaining.
People are asking to have them present one of their full "operas" at the Atlas.

they were awesome and not a ripoff of anyone. I saw gwar..oh, 15 years ago, that stopped being original long ago. rocky Horror? Nope, no relation at all unless you think wearing gawdy makeup makes one a rocky horror ripoff artist in which case my Mother is in big trouble.

H street fest was awesome all around, stop trying to find things to cry about.

hey the Rocky Horror comment was meant as a joke. I loved the Rock Opera and would love to see them at the Atlas.

I first saw these guys at Artscape. They were lip-synching song after song with rocking out performances. They also had a much bigger crew on the ground. They had spacemen, robot-people and minotaurs. The randomness of it all made it even better. It was amazing. They were good at H St but even better at Artscape. I'm sure if they came to the Atlas, they'd be even more awesome. Wooooo!
