GGW: Who Should Control the Streetcar?

Greater Greater Washington asks if WMATA or DDOT should be in charge of the streetcars.

  1. Not WMATA. Anyone else. Code Pink. The Heritage Foundation. Anyone.

  2. I think DDOT should control and at first have WMATA operate it for a period of 5 years during which time a feasibility study could be completed regarding if DDOT, a DDOT contractor, or WMATA would be the best to operate the system. DDOT could also contract it out from the beginning.

  3. I think that DDOT should be in charge of the streetcars as WMATA has a difficult time just overseeing the buses and metro system.

  4. DDOT should own it then contract the job out to the Circulator contractor. No brainer.

Keep WMATA as far away from this thing as possible!

  5. I am self proclaimed king of the street cars. I will have to smack around Vince Gray for his insolence.

All hail his royal majesty Obed Marsh the Street Car King!

  6. @dolemite.

I do believe WMATA is the contractor for the circulator.
