random side note about something i saw two blocks from this location: i wondered if anyone here knows the name of the band i saw rehearsing on the second floor of the house on the northeast corner of 12th and G St NE around 6:30 today. they were rocking so hard, i wanted to knock and figure out who the band was, but i doubt they would have been able to hear me over their rehearsal. they sure sounded good, though.
what is not cool was the absolutely blaringly loud rock music coming out of the red and black at midnight on a tuesday. i trekked over there and they were polite enough to turn it down, but sweet jesus, it was like a metallica concert in my house in the middle of the night on a weekday till i went over there...i know it's a recession and all, but some people still work during the week LMAO...
and now, i actually go to bed, sans rock concert. lol.
ps: anyone know what they're leasing the old wig shop space at 12th and H for? the number in the window leads to a voice mail from which calls seemingly never get returned
Haven't seen this go up yet, but wanted to share since the photo has streetcar construction:
Dear DC streetcar supporters,
The D.C. Council's Public Works and Transportation Committee will hold a public hearing on the DC Streetcar System Plan on Wednesday, November 17 at 2:00 pm. This is a first step toward the Council approving DDOT's streetcar plan so it can receive $34.5 million and remain on schedule to begin streetcar service on the H Street-Benning Road line by spring 2012. Additional details are available at: http://streetcars4dc.org/?p=253 .
We need streetcar supporters to testify in support of this streetcar plan so that DDOT can receive the crucial funds it needs to complete the H Street-Benning Road line on schedule.
Please sign up to testify as soon as possible by sending an email to April Hawkins-Mason at ahawkinsmason@dccouncil.us.
If you've never testified at a D.C. Council hearing before and have questions about how it works or you'd like advice on what to include in your testimony, please send me a message at jason_broehm@earthlink.net.
