End of the Year Farmers Market
This Saturday is the last day of the season for the H Street Farmers Market. They've got a couple of end of the year special events at market to celebrate.
1) Red Apron will be at market selling its delicious cured meat products and will be giving away cooked hotdogs to customers. Joining Red Apron will be Cooper Pot, who makes artisanal jams and hand made pastas.
2) The H Street market is working with a local church on a end-of-season Thanksgiving food drive to benefit needy families in the area. The Market organizers would really love to get tons of people donate; if the food drive is a success it might be something they could do on a more regular basis.
Here's the info from the flyer on how you can help:
-Bring unopened, non-perishable foods from your own pantry.
-Shop for non-perishable foods or purchase a gift card at a local supermarket. Bring your purchased donations to market.
-Make a cash or check donation at the FRESHFARM Market information table. We will use the funds to purchase fresh local produce directly from our producers.
-On November 20th shop at Market for fresh foods.
First Church of Christ Holiness (1219 Hamlim St NE) will distribute donations to needy neighborhood families
