From the Flickr Pool: Rosedale Rowhouse

rosedale rowhouse, originally uploaded by AWard Tour.

A nice addition to the pool indeed. Want to see more boarded up rowhouse photos? Follow the jump!

The good news is that most of these are no longer boarded up. Perhaps later we can do a where are they now?

I live right across the street from this rowhouse on the corner of 19th & Gales, and it makes me sad. Oh, how I wish someone would do something with it. With that whole block of 19th St. south of Benning Road. As far as I can tell, several buildings on the block changed hands in the last several months. Anyone know anything about what might happen there?

I'd also be interested in knowing what's going on over there. With the new recreation center and several renovations on the 1500-1600 block, there has been a quite a bit of activity on Gales recently.

I'm fairly certain this this was the house that was crashed into a couple of months ago.

Sorry to steal the post but tommy wells is saying a walmart is coming in his district. Does anyone know where?

Anon 2:13 -

I don't think he's said it's coming to Ward 6... just that they're coming to DC. The word (currently) is that Wal-Mart plans four to six stores in DC using a "new" "urban" model, and the only "confirmed" location is Ward 7.

All info gleaned from here:

Yes, it's the house where the car crashed. My sister saw the fire.

At least a couple of the houses in these pictures have already been torn down and/or rebuilt.

I always admire the last house pictured (from Fla Ave). There's something about the green paint peeling off of the brick that I like. I'm pretty sure it's still vacant.

Thanks for the post Inked.

Anonymous--I'd like to know, too. It definitely looks like there's a lot going on on that block, but nothing's really finished yet.

If you're interested, here are links to the "before the boarding-up" of that House, on Flickr:
