WP: Good to Go at Chuck's Wagon Bar-B-Q
The Post checks out Chuck's Wagon Bar-B-Q, and finds it quite satisfying. 650 H Street. Open Monday-Thursday from 11am-3pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11am-7pm.

11 to 3? What clientele are they targeting with those hours? the unemployed? Sheesh.
My GF and I got some carryout there a few weeks ago. The description of the ribs in the Post article was accurate: they were good (not fantastic, but good), if a little light on the meat. The dark meat chicken was some of the best I've had anywhere in D.C. Really. It was great.
I love bbq and welcome new resturant options in the neighborhood. However, could we have better hours of operations ? There is a market for people after 3PM ?
they should get a lot of walk-in business from the folks who work at or require the services of the dc government offices across the street. smart location.
Due to irreconcilable differences with our leaseholder, Chuck's Wagon BBQ has decided to close it's H Street location . The community made us feel welcome and we loved the feedback - even the negative. We love the new vibe in the area, and hope to be a part of it's future. Please consider us for your catering needs. See ya soon!

I think they're targeting the lunch crowd.
I tried Chuck's a few weeks ago. The ribs and sauce were good. Also had the smoked sausage sandwich that was on special for 3 bucks.

The line was out the door today around 1:30. However you can probably only fit two people in there. Roughly a 12 person line.
Maybe the owners just decided to limp in with a small place and few hours. If they sense higher demand maybe they will somehow expand to meet it
i'm not really a bbq aficionado, but they seem to have a unique sauce. like cinnamon or something in it
