It's not too early to start making those New Year's Eve plans. The first menu I've seen out on H comes from the soon to open Smith Commons. Basically you get three-courses and one glass of wine, a beer or a signature cocktail per person, $50.

Prix fixe menu menu only served on New Year’s Eve. Seatings begin at 6 pm.

I'm really looking forward to Smith Commons opening, but I am pretty shocked they are planning on opening by NYE. If you look in their windows, the place still looks pretty bare inside. I hope these guys aren't making the mistake of just assuming that the permitting process will go completely as planned. As pretty much anyone who has ever waited for something to open in DC can attest, it rarely does. As I recall, though, the guys opening Smith Commons have some experience opening restaurants in DC, so they probably know what they're doing. We'll see...
Really excited for (yet) another semi-nice food/drink option in the hood.
