What's going on at Toyland this weekend?
Looks like ANC6A is going to protest the new CT license application of HR-57. Were they going to serve chicken wings?
Anon 7:57, do you have a link? 8th and H is a mess right now HR-57 will be great! If there ever was a place that allowed alcohol that shouldn't be contested, HR-57 is it.
All I've found is an agenda item for the January meeting indicating that the ANC's ABL Committee recommends protesting the license if they don't have a Voluntary Agreement with the owners. That's pretty standard.
Looking at the website and mailing list: the December meeting of the ANC-6A ABL Committee considered the license applications for Angelico's and HR-57; that was in the meeting's agenda. Minutes for that meeting haven't been posted, which is unusual: as the website shows, they're usually pretty good about posting ABL Committee meeting minutes. I presume there was some holiday or something afterwards that might have gotten in the way. I just wrote Mary Beatty, the current (and retiring) ABL Committee chair asking about minutes.
Anyway, a week later, there was a post to the ANC-6A mailing list containing a copy of a letter to ABRA about Angelico's; that letter included a Voluntary Agreement between the ANC and Angelico's that had supposedly been approved at the 9 December meeting of the full ANC. However, I couldn't find any reference to that in the minutes of the 9 December meeting. And since the dates on the actual document say 16 Dec and 19 Dec, something seems out of whack there, but anyway . . .no such email has appeared for HR-57. So I presume that the ANC has not yet arrived at a VA with the owners of HR-57 that has been signed by all parties. So there's an agenda item in case one has not been reached at meeting time.
As for getting one by meeting time, I have no idea whether there are issues in the VA negotiations, and if so, what those might be. Presumably any issues were discussed at the public meeting of the committee last month, since it was on the published agenda. The minutes may shed more light.
