Street Talk Tomorrow & Monday Night
Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm
SOVA Espresso and Wine
1359 H Street
What do YOU want to see on H Street? Do you dream of craft markets and artisan stalls? Really got a craving for a hot dog stand? Wish there was a place to buy a bike? What's YOUR vision? Each Wednesday, stop by SOVA anytime between 11am and 1pm for Street Talk - informal salon discussions of how we, as H Street business owners and stakeholders, envision the future of H Street, NE economic development. The possibilities are endless, but are more easily achieved when we come together as a business community to support a shared vision. Be a part of the discussion and have your voice heard. Street Talk is being initiated by H Street entrepreneur Joe Englert with support from CHAMPS – Capitol Hill’s Chamber of Commerce.
Special section Monday night at 6pm at the Argonaut (1433 H Street).

More outdoor group fitness classes. Untapped market!
a kite store!
I don't get it. Is "a kite store" supposed to be a reference to gentrification?
Where the hell do you buy kites nowadays anyway? I saw a lady on the mall flying one with her kid.
I would like to see the development of Blair School (shelter). It is a wonderful structure thatr should be developed to increase residential density. How about the huge parking lot behind it? It is a massive waste of realestate. Maybe a project is already slated. I would like to know.

Exactly why we need one!
We definitely need a cupcake store. Aren't cupcakes slated to be the next big thing?
WSC or Gold's, preferably on the western end.
re gyms: there was a Results gym at NOMA and I'm not sure but I think it is no more?
I'd like a gym on the east end. West end has all those big fancy apartment buildings with gyms inside.
Charles,
That results is turning into a Vida.
What kind of retail will the lower level of the Flats at Atlas have? How about a Mom's or a Yes market?
@Charles, that Results/Vida is a tad too west.
@vegan, Flats will have 5,000SF of retail. Expect a dry cleaner, Subway and a Pizza Hut.
Vegan,
They don't have a tenant/tenants yet. They will have two grocery stores under a block away.
Inked,
Is one of them Safeway at Hech Mall or were you talking about a new grocery store?
DC in general needs a decent clothing exchange store a la Buffalo Exchange or Plato's Closet. I realize that the Salvation Army on H Street sells clothes (scored a fly pair of Guess jeans there for $5 once), but places like Buffalo Exchange accept and resell only recent styles and 'in-fashion' stuff. Also, late night (until maybe 10pm or so on weekends) retail is something DC is SORELY missing. The Urban Outfitters in Georgetown and a few places in Chinatown are about all we've got, and certainly nothing that's upscale resale.
@roxan,
There is rumor of a buffalo exchange sizing up some space up on 14th.
10:15,
Safeway and Aldi.

Air and Space Museum?
