Atlas Offers Stagecraft Apprentice Program

P1010058_2

Do you, or someone you know, dream of a career working behind the scenes in the performing arts?

Live entertainment -whether it is theatre, dance, music or comedy -requires more than performers to make it happen. It takes a team of skilled and competent people, working together behind the scenes, to create the lighting, sound, sets, projections and special effects that make the performance possible.

Full details after the jump.

If you want to be a part of that team and discover opportunities for employment in Washington's performing arts industry, the Atlas Stagecraft Training and Apprenticeship Program will provide hands-on training and practical work experience in the essential skills you will need, in addition to a small stipend.

No previous experience is required.

Apply online HERE or download the form to complete and mail it to
Atlas Performing Arts Center, 1333 H Street, NE, Washington, DC.
Applications Due: 5pm, May 24, 2011

For more information, contact the Atlas at 202.399.7993 ext 133 or email stagecraft@atlasarts.org or stop by.

hey, sorry for the random post but i don't see anywhere to email you. not sure if this idea would be helpful for anyone other than myself, but i just bought a house in trinidad and am ripping it apart. i need doors and trim. so many people have replaced with all new stuff and i'd like to try and restore mine. i have no idea how to find out if people have extra materials lying around. do you think you could help with a available/WTB post for all of the renovators moving into the neighborhood? thanks!
