Intersections Call For Performers
The Atlas Performing Arts Center announces its third annual all-arts festival celebrating the artistic and cultural connections of our community and world. Through innovative intersections of theater, dance, music, film and video, opera, visual art and spoken word, we will bring together diverse artists and audiences from DC and beyond to break boundaries and create connections in our intimate performance spaces, festive lobby and cafĂ©. The festival features productions and events that give distinctive voice to the kaleidoscope of perspectives of the “new America” – a place of intersecting cultures, races, ages and art forms and stretch the boundaries of art through collaborations across genres, disciplines, ages, perspectives and experiences. More information and a downloadable proposal form can be found at www.intersectionsdc.org. The deadline for submission is June 17, 2011. Questions: Contact Festival Artistic Director, Mary Hall Surface, at intersectionsdc@atlasarts.org. The Atlas is located at 1333 H Street.

Is the Atlas going its summer movie screening again this year? That was a lot of fun last year. They need to let a queer pick the queer movies this year though. Some of their movie selections just weren't very gay.
I'm pretty sure that last summer's gay movies were picked by a gay guy. So much for profiling eh? What movies would you pick?
We are doing 4 different Film series this summer and will be announcing next week. Gay 101 is coming back. Metro Weekly is sponsoring Gay 101 and the magazine helped choose the films this year. But last year's were chosen by gay staff.
