The Argonaut (1433 H Street) is hosting the first annual Father’s Day Phoenix Fest on Sunday June 19, rain or shine. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the DC Fire Fighter Burn Foundation. The fest includes an Argonaut band, food and drinks specials, a raffle, moon bounce, and hopefully a guest DC fire fighter bartender and fire truck.
Last June a fire destroyed the kitchen and caused smoke damage throughout The Argonaut. Thanks to the fire department, the H Street community and months of hard work The Argonaut reopened for full operation in January and business is better than ever. To commemorate the fire The Argonaut family wants to give back to those who helped through the rough time, especially the D.C. Fire Fighters. Their quick response and continued help along the way made the reopen a reality.
The D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded by active and retired Washington, D.C. Firefighters. The Foundation is dedicated to assisting in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured firefighters and burn patients in the D.C. Metropolitan Area. They support burn research, treatment, and rehabilitation programs at Washington Hospital Center as well as the Children's Burn Camp Program.
