The City Paper recently celebrated the 44th anniversary of the marriage of Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving. The marriage of the interracial couple would (after a multi-year court battle that lead all the way to the Supreme Court) lead to the striking out down of anti-miscegenation laws across the country.
