A Sneak Peek at the Juice Bar

photo

A reader sent in this photo of the still under construction juice bar opening in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue (Trinidad side). The juice bar is part of the health food store opening at the corner of Florida and Trinidad. The owner is a neighborhood resident, and the same man behind the Funky Flea Market that recently decamped from the Florida Market.

Very cool. Any idea what this will be called, and when it might open?

Speaking of openings, does anybody have any idea what is going on with the two pizza places that are supposed to be opening (the sun moon building and the one midblock between 13th & 14th)?

+1 on the sun and the moon question

Juice bar will add some variety to the corridor and hopefully a healthier alternative.

if he sells some type of organic hangover aid, he'll probably get post-bar business too. ha!

Awesome. Yay Florida Ave. Can't wait to check this place out.

Does this mean the funeral home that was discussed on this blog is not coming to that block? I hope not!

they need to have a large selection of veggies and fruits to create different drinks, my fav is the green drink which is every green veggie they have and nothing else

Speaking of the flea market, is there a new location? It would be nice to have an eastern market style close a side street off market on the weekends? Maybe on 11th st?

I believe the funky flea market is moving up toward Columbia Heights-ish area (2500 Sherman Ave.)

Is the new shop opening up in what used to be the Nifty Thrifty?

4:54,
That space is now a screenprinting studio. This is one block over, and a much larger space that used to be a laundromat.

I hope it offers a variety of veggies and raw ginger! Many juice bars focus primarily on sweet fruit juices, but I think the best ones also offer and promote/educate about veggie based drinks that are sweetened with a bit of fruit, or spiced up with herbs or ginger, etc. for an amazing MEAL, or elixer - like drinking a delicious, nutritious salad. Yum. Looking forward to it.
