Teen Spa Opens on H Street

Picture 1
Photo provided by Spoiled and Rotten

This one's from the owner of Spoiled and Rotten (1012 H Street). Initially it will open up behind the children's spa, but will eventually move to its own location. Target ages are 13-17. Anyone who stops by the grand opening tomorrow (1-5pm) will get either a coupon for free water ice from Philadelphia Water Ice (also the same owner), or a coupon for $1 off the philly cheesesteak.

Bizarre. But Whatever, I'm happy it's a business that isn't a bar or restaurant.

Wait, what? I'm confused. I would love to read the business plan on this one.

Can we get a spa for adults on H street? I need accupressure more than my kids.

Somehow this woman seems to make money, evidenced by her ability to open up more businesses and in this case basically duplicate a previous one. Good for her

It seems like none of her places are ever open. I stopped paying attention to PWI a couple years ago. Her giant advertising poster for the kids spa shows a terrified toddler with Hershey's syrup smeared on her face and cucumbers on her eyes clutching the arms of her chair like I do when anticipating the dentist drill touching my tooth. I don't know who that appeals to

I too would like to see the business plans

The pictures on the windows of Spoiled and Rotten freak me the fuck out.

I have never seen anybody enter or leave Spoiled Rotten.

How PWI stays in business I have no idea. Every time we pass by there it is closed. Last night it was finally open, and girlfriend ordered a quesadilla, (she's veg and it was prominently displayed in the window). $5, two tortillas and some melted cheese. No salsa as advertised in the picture. She took two bites and threw it out.

totally agree about the crazy pics she put all over the front of her place. i'm sure the little flag streamers she tied onto the post in front of philly water ice are illegally hung as well. makes me not want to support the biz.

The cheesesteaks are great and so is the water ice and froyo. The tacos are inconsistent, but the service is friendly. Wish they could have worked something out with the Impala people, but c'est la vie. They close up shop when they run out of things -- go figure.

Got some ice cream with a few neighbors and our kids at Philadelphia Water Ice two days ago. PWI is open whenever I walk up to the window.

As for the spa, the kids version seemed popular for a while. When I pass it, it's usually a weekday evening (coming back from work) or morning (going to work), neither of which seem likely times for a kids spa to be open.

Glad another non-bar business opened.

The two times I've tried to order something at PWI, I've stood there for five minutes waiting for someone to take my order. Window was open, but no one was in there.

Both times I gave up and went elsewhere. I've heard such good things about the cheesesteaks. Too bad it's such a shoddily run business.

Spoiled Rotten kind of freaks me out too, but I'm not their target audience either, so it doesn't matter much.

I got a soft ice cream once from PWI, which was good enough. They have a pretzel cone (an ice cream cone made from crispy pretzel, complete with salt) which is something I've never seen anywhere else.

My daughter went to a birthday party at Spoiled and Rotten's last year (she's 6) and had a blast. The party package included "makeovers" (dress-ups) and manicures, a runway show, photos and pizza. It was cute. Lots of suburban malls have kiddie spas that provide similar serivces. Don't be critical of something you haven't even tried! I'm starting to get really tired of the complainers who post on this blog--not every business on H Street is going to cater to your specific needs. It's called diversity and we should be happy for it.

Good for her. I am also happy to see other businesses opening on H Street. Do you honestly think that we need another bar? The pictures on her window? well... how about the facades of restaurants like; GM,Argo,or d.d.pies??? now... that is very attractive!!!!

Agree with anons 559 & 652. This is great. This entrepreneur should be applauded for opening a non-bar business in the heart of H.

It's a big street, and there's plenty of space for all types of businesses. There are some that offer goods and services I don't personally need. That's cool. I assume business for kids spas must be decent if the owner of Spoiled and Rotten is expanding. That's great.

I don't really get the comment about the facades of Argo, GM, and DDP. GM may look a little grubby vintage (I think the idea is that it's a hidden gem), but Argo and DDP both look freshly scrubbed.

I went to PWI the other week and it was open and the taco was delicious. It was fresh and the pork was amazing!

It always looks open when I drive by.

the owner is opening up these places because she is not paying her employees. Khadijah Bronson (owner) is a liar. Pwi is not cleaned daily. She doesn't take the proper steps to sanitize. Personally I would not support any of her businesses because she is not who she says she is. The comments are negative because she is a negative person.

Khadijah Bronson is a ghetto hood rat trying to half ass run her businesses. She's a negative, shady person. She's also a habitual liar. She doesn'y deserve anyone's endorsement.
