One thing the pug knows: presentation. That is just immaculate. There are at least three different foods there. Maybe four. I can't tell if that thing to the left is just one of the other sausages that somehow got mishapen in the cooking process or if it is something different altogether. All same color... The only thing left is to put it in the blender to fully homogenize it

You fail to realize the point of that presentation. That's the Hangover Hash plate. When you're ordering that, it's because you're in need, and you want everything about the experience as non-challenging as possible.

No offense meant to The Pug, Tony T or puréed eggs n sausage, but I think this development is worth a hijack:

http://dcentric.wamu.org/2011/08/d-c-program-could-boost-h-street-retail/

The devil is in the details, but if this program to boost retail is successful, gains steam and receives more funding it could really help businesses like H Street Bakes get off the ground.

That breakfast looks heavenly. Dave B, you are free to go get some free range mangurt at whole foods... don't knock what looks to be an awesome breakfast from the Pug.

H Street Baked some fantastic bread the last couple of times that I went, I hope that baker is back with them tomorrow. There was 5 or 6 different bakers so there is a good variety to choose from.

The invite I received on facebook says Sunday. Are you sure it's Saturday?

Thanks for posting, @Dolemite.

Big thumbs up. I'm tired of having to haul my ass down to 8th Street.

Tony-- the hash looks sublime.

maybe i could open a store that sells fancy kitchen equipment and hash blenders. i'm happy to see that program announced, but it always leaves me wondering how a place like metro mutts got going without the adi, and also why my neighborhood can't get a program like that, and why everybody hates barbers.

Dave B,

The Pug is a working/drinking person's bar, and also serves drinking person's food. I, for one, like a place that serves a simple, American breakfast. I don't want to pay extra for presentation. I don't want every place on H St. to only serve dishes that start at $25. I want a meal that tastes good and that I can eat fast, so that I can get back home and let it do the intended job of getting the previous night's hard-earned sins out of my body.

me thinks MH sent that email from his bberry while on the throne.

I had the Hangover Hash on Saturday and it was great! Also, H St. Bakes has a woman who bakes cinnimon rolls with bacon - nuff said.
