NHL Center Ice & Drink Specials at the Pug

The Pug has NHL Center Ice this season, so folks can catch the games at the bar. The Pug has pledged to show all Caps and Sabres games, and an assortment of others. To mark the start of the NHL regular season, they will have a $3 Molson special during the following games: Flyers-Bruins, Canadiens-Leafs at 7pm Thursday. Ducks-Sabres 1pm Friday. Sabres-Kings 2pm and Hurricanes-Caps 7pm Saturday.

Trying to corner that affluent Buffalo market, huh?

What is next? Showing snowmobile racing

It's not really Buffalish, but really who cares enough to know, you should start making these:

so tired of this fake sports town pretending like they actually understand hockey

What we do understand is that 10 shots were fired on 10th street between H and I at 9am on Saturday morning. Yep. I'm furious.

Or maybe the pug just realizes that there might be some scattered fans of out-of-town teams and some of them might trickle in on a random weeknight and ask that their game be put on TV.

Nobody is actually pretending to understand hockey. They just understand that some people like it.

But, whatever, I dont want to get in your way of saying something that makes you feel better than someone or something. Your hometown must produce all kinds of sports geniuses.

As a huge hockey fan living near H Street, this is excellent. I already liked the Pug and the guys that work there, now I can watch hockey

It is also a welcome departure from the "look at how different I am, I like soccer" vibe that currently permeates the area.

this is what i can tell you. although i'm usually a fan of president obama, i am no soft american. the pug also now has college football on saturdays, and the nfl on sundays, so what i am is a big fat sell out, but i've got 3 kids so there you go. and as for anonymous from 3:28, i'm sure your hometown is a real sports town with a deep, deep understanding of blue lines, red lines, and the nuances of icing. i'm also fairly certain you left your little cul de sac in michituckey as soon as you possibly could for the bright lights of a fake sport town like dc. thanks for bringing us your small town values. i'll see you in the playoffs when ovechkin flames out again. now back to being unique, and watching dc united fall apart.
thanks for the hilly votes,
tonyt

Why is it that all Indonesians and Filipinos stick together? In my cul-de-sac back home we put on soccer scarves during Halloween only. Those of us with three kids went out and got a second job usually at second hand book stores. When the tough got going, we made in fun of George Allen and his calisthenics. We are not DC United. We are DC Apart and the only thing we can agree on is Dan Snyder looks great in a war head dress. I am an unabashed lover of the chicken wing, big women and the 70's expansion uniforms of the Buffalo Sabres, anything Bob McAdoo and Jack Kemp. May God Bless the Pug and the stuffed ballot box...............

What kind of idiot thinks the garbage plate is from Buffalo? Its from Rochester, fool.

Comment not directed at the pug or meant to disparage them, but at the weak sports fans in DC. Love DC, but sports fandom/knowledge is an area this town sorely lacks in. You can agree or disagree, thats my own opinion.

It is possible to by and large enjoy DC but dislike this one particular aspect. Posting a knee jerk reaction on an unrelated topic is admittedly pretty lame though. I can't believe I was that person.

Hope this works out well for the Pug.

I don't like soccer and am indifferent to hockey but I do like the fact that the Pug shows both. It gives my loser friends who follow these sports an excuse to come drink with me. And then I can make fun of them for being lame and make myself feel better at the same time.

I admitted it isnt from buffalo, but hey you got to show everybody that you know the difference between buffalo and rochester. Congrats, you are a genius of western new york geography. Meanwhile, the rest of the free (and oppressed) world doesnt care.

If the Pug sold garbage plates, would you really care that it was from Rochester, not Buffalo. Buffalo/Bills/Sabres TV territory is like half the area of NY state. So someone from Rochester is probably a Bills fan, whence the overlap of buffalo and garbage plates. Look on the bright side, when the Pug starts selling them, then you can act smart and tell people how the real garbage plate is better

Well, if the Pug wants to do some amazing Buffalo food, they need to rip off the recipes for a Super Mighty, Junction pizza and Anchor Bar wings....Oh yeah, and if they could get some Aunt Rosies up in there. Honestly not that huge of a fan of the garbage plate.

Oh yeah....no one in Buffalo is eating a garbage plate unless you drive 90 minutes to Rochester to get one, whereas the people in Rochester are enjoying the Buffalo sports franchises from the comfort of their living rooms....

Every one in Washington is "wide left"....why wouldn't Norwood be too???????

Wow, evidence of what a terrible sports town this is. Norwood was wide right, not wide left.

And I hope that's not a Redskins fan making fun of a Bills field goal attempt. Funny. Another missed Buffalo FG attempt? The one nullified when Gibbs iced the kicker twice, incurred a 15 yard penalty and handed them the game .

Also, love how Crosby is brought into it when there's not mention of him or even Pittsburgh. Inferiority complex? Obsessed much? Want to bring the Flyers into it as well?

This is all evidence of what bunch of idiots Washington sports "fans" are. I'm not even from Buffalo or Pittsburgh or Philly and I'm glad you all have a place where you can watch the capitals coach whine about Stamkos some more.

I hope Buffalo fans, like the chef at Liberty Tree, I think I've seen him in a red and black Sabres jersey, dominate the Pug on hockey nights.

It's a rust belt thing, you wouldn't understand. Detroit, Philly, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Cleveland....we're miserable, right? So let us wallow in our glory, our failures, our rusty little pasts....Always rooting for one of these teams from these places....The Caps Lawyer fan base are laughable...they can't appreciate that there is only ONE winner per year in each sport....its hard...you have to be lucky, good and healthy to win....
How would the lawyers and lobbyists feel if they had to battle to the death each year, only ONE winner crowned???? They just don't get how hard it is to beat a super-talented, super motivated team or individual.....major crux of the Washington fan base.....
