It's a bit odd that non existent places like Vendetta and Joes Coal House can get a liquor license but Pho can not. Has the ANC already effectively banned liquor licenses on H ? Good business killer there people.
Dagnabbit I got all worked up for pho and went there last night - lights out with no sign of life. Ended up going to Toki instead, for a phenomenal bowl of Curry Hakata.
I believe it is staging for an Army (AUSA) conference/tradeshow/something. I biked by there on Saturday and they were taking a Humvee off of a covered flatbed truck.
They are having the usual problems with getting their inspections done and passed by the city. No one can under estimate the time that this city takes to do it's job, and it's getting worse again, now that we are returning to the Barry era of city services.
I saw the owners Saturday night. They told me that they plan to open on Wednesday, October 19, at 5 pm. The place looks great. All ready to go - except no liquor license yet. No problems anticipated, but there were just some procedural snags. Perhaps they can get a stipulated license until the permanent one is issued. They will be offering delivery service. Yay!

Anon 5:15-it's generally best to avoid spelling errors in a comment pointing out a spelling error.
Sorry for the chage of topic, but I'm really curious? Why are there hundred of tractor trailers in the RFK parking lot?
Just went by. They were not open. Sad face.
What gives? Sad face for me too.
Um, maybe they put it off a bit. I did not personally follow up with them, so you can blame me.
turn that frown upside down and come into my basement! No pho, and no safe words. Just love.
Too bad that ANC 6A didn't approve their alcohol license request because of "procedure" issues.

trinidaddy -- when did you do your no-pho redirect to Toki? My gf and I did exactly the same thing, right down to my bowl of curry hakata.
Right around 7:30 or so
Are they open tonight? Anybody swing by?
lights out tonight as well
This place is a front. it will never open.
This is making me angry! Either they are opening or they are not! What's the hold up! H St has needed pho for quite some time. GRRR
