Featured Book: Washington, DC Protests: Scenes from Home Rule to Civil Rights Movement*
Meet some Northeast DC neighbors. Learn a little about DC. Engage in dynamic discussion. Join us for the Northeast DC Book Club!
This month's book is "Washington, D.C. Protests: Scenes from Home Rule to Civil Rights Movement" Washingtonians' lack of representation has impelled them to make positive change through peaceful, and often creative, forms of protest. Mark S. Greek, photo archivist for the D. C. Public Library, has compiled a stunning collection of images of Washingtonians effecting change.
All are welcome, no matter how much or how little of the book you have read. There will be time at the end of our discussion to determine the next book and location for our book club meeting, so come with your ideas!

Is it just me or does "Washington, DC Protests: Scenes from Home Rule to Civil Rights Movement" sound like a coffee table book full of photographs?
Seems an odd choice for a book club, which I thought usually involve READING books.
Book clubs usually involve a pot-luck dinner, socializing, and talking about everything except the book.
Well, I. Guess all theories can be tested on Monday...at the book club, no?
