From Yelp:
"Gastronomes Take Heed. Founded by Jin Chong, Chinitos Burritos is committed to serving the community authentic Mexican food at an affordable price. Located in the meat-packing district of NE, Washington, DC, my mission is to provide gourmet food that is prepared quickly. The name Chinitos is an adaptation of the Spanish word Chinos to describe Asians. Cheers to good food and longevity.

With a passion for food and a love for people, Chinitos Burritos aims to establish trust in the community for preparing authentic Mexican food done well. Gourmet food does not have to come with a gourmet price tag.

My hope is to inspire and enhance the quality of life through great food and experience, combined by entertainment and great atmosphere. Command the art of hospitality employing the juxtaposition of nourishment, rapport, and diversion to create harmony and foster the ceremony of life and living."

It can also be a slang term for a Chinese person.

If the prices quoted are true, then I am pleased since I'd like some options in the area that aren't over priced.

Indeed it is. Sorry, H Street on the brain.

Great is the empty store front/deli on the corner of 6th and Florida ? This could be great if done correctly and take advantage of the outside patio.

It's at the corner of 7th and Florida, covers down off the windows today, looks awesome! Now if we can get the lanes down from 6 to 4, and get a few more businesses serving the community (like this one!) Florida might just have a chance of becoming livable and walkable.

Chinito's is all I'd hoped for and more! Absolutely delicious! Too bad their CofO won't allow tables in their fairly large table space. Seems ridiculous to me, thanks DCRA.

I got a veggie burrito today. It's huge and was less than $5. This place has really good take out. The cook gave me a free sample of an egg roll and told me that nothing is frozen or canned. He has no freezer and no can opener.

wlErik,
Wait, they have eggrolls? What's in the eggrolls?

My wife and I ate here on Thursday for lunch - the good was great. A couple tips:
* Was told hours are 10am - 6pm or so, as they just opened
* For now CASH ONLY
* $3 to start, then $2-3 for meat/veggies.
* No seating inside

The overall decor seemed unfinished but it will definitely become a go-to spot once they are open later in the evening.

Was there yesterday....base burrito is $3 you can add cheese, salsa, guac, lettuce, etc for free, $1.50 for stir fried veggies, and $2 for meat (meat choices will change often but yesterday was ground beef, teraki chicken, and something else.

They wok-fried the veggies right there as I ordered, the burrito as a whole was chipolte sized and nomnomnom...I hope he gets a sign and some evening hours real soon, No way Im home by 6, and this is cheaper than making dinner

great food for a really good price. yummy fresh burrito with FRRESH grilled veggies and grilled on the spot meat for under 7 bucks. rivals chipotle and i am happier to give my money to a shop that is NOT a chain at that price. wish they could do seating...i guess DCRA has some stupid rule. they have a good size dining space that could be really cute if set up with tables n chairs. evening hours are due soon. owner told me he spent a year researching franchise success and scoping locations before selecting this concept and location near the university. cool.

Just went there - they're having a soft opening for now. Getting signage up soon. Food was great and cheap. Chatted with the owner, he was really nice and a fan of the neighborhood. Has big plans for the place. I'd much rather eat here than chipotle, and that's saying a lot. I think this place will be very successful. Go visit it ASAP before it becomes super-busy!

The owner seems like a cool cat and the food is great. I think he's still in a sort of "soft opening" mode right now while he makes adjustments based on customer feedback. Definitely go check it out. Terrific add to the neighborhood and the GU community.

Burritos were great and fresh, but the salsa that comes with the bag of chips is a joke... its good for maybe 3 chips

Does anyone know what the current hours of operation are? I stopped by there about 30 mins ago and looks like they weren't opened.

As of now, they're open until 5pm, Monday - Saturday. I'm guessing they open around 10am or so. I've had the chicken, beef, shrimp special, and even the egg rolls. All delicious and on the cheap. Still cash only as of this weekend as well.
