DSC_0063

H Street Great Street has a copy of the flyer for Phoenix Fest. This is the second annual Phoenix Fest the Argonaut (1433 H Street) has held. It's a fundraiser for the DC Firefighters Burn Foundation. What does the Foundation do (from their website)?

-Provide assistance and support to firefighters (and their family members) who have been hospitalized by burn injuries sustained in the line of duty.
-Support to burn victims and their families receiving treatment at both Washington Hospital Center and Children's National Medical Center.
-Funding for The Burn Center at Washington Hospital Center to purchase medical and physical therapy equipment, conduct burn research programs, and special projects deemed necessary by the burn center staff.
-Burn education and prevention programs for citizens and firefighters.
-Funding for young burn survivors to attend the Children’s Burn Camp.
-Burn Survivor Support: Sharing in the process of recovery and rehabilitation of adults, children and their families as they recover from a burn injury.

Phoenix Fest is Saturday June 23rd from 12pm until close. The cost is $50, and that gets you unlimited Booty Bear (Redhook IPA) and crabs (Maryland and snow), clams, mussels, shrimp, corn, and potatoes. Email ArgonautDC[at]gmail.com for reservations (this WILL sell out). The event also features guest firefighter bartenders, drink specials, kids art classes taught by a local artist, henna tattoos, and a silent auction.
