It's been a long time coming, but I spoke with Earth Things 4U owner/founder Omowale Sia yesterday, and he told me that he hopes to open in about a week. Earth Things 4U will be located at 1324 Florida Avenue (Trinidad) in a space that was last occupied by a laundromat/check cashing place called Service General. Mr. Sia lives in the neighborhood, and ran Friends in the Marketplace (a flea market) when it was at the Florida Avenue Market.
I'm told he's going to open with slightly limited inventory, but will add more later. Here's what he plans to offer:
- Organic and local produce
- Vitamin/mineral supplements
- Juice and smoothie bar
- Vegan cuisine
- Nuts and dried fruits
- Herbal bag and loose tea
- Healthy snacks and pastries
- Beans/rice/staples
- Natural hair and body products
