The Washington City Paper has the scoop behind The Elroy, which is headed to 1423 H Street. As I
noted on Saturday, The Elroy will be using the old liquor license from the NY Avenue Beach Bar. According to the article, the name comes from the Jetsons character. Not a whole lot of details yet, but a short menu, and cocktails served in unusual glassware.

I live two doors down, so I'm hoping this place is nice! Sounds like a clever concept.
Another bar. *Yawn*
agreed
Another business on the east end is nice.
On open business is much better than an empty store front!

I still yawn.
50s space age is my favorite aesthetic
I'll believe it when I see it. A lot has been promised for that area in recent years but I can't recall any concept actually making it to an opening.
Look forward to the Fundrise or Kickstarter petition to help pay legal bills when Hanna Barbera now known as Time Warner sues them.
a little off topic...any news yet on Noma screen on the green ?
I'm looking forward to the cocktail called "Jane, stop this crazy thing!"
Geez such negativity... sounds really cool to me.
I'm not sure why one would "yawn" - after all, one need something new to whine and complain about, obviously, and this is something new to kvetch about! Just like when they painted the Argonaut green 7 years ago! You can swear off ever going to yet another bar now! YAY! WHINE!
