Tubman-Mahan Gallery (6:30pm to 8:30pm)
Making Her Story 8 is the eighth annual group show featuring work by women artists seeking to express their inner voices.  This year’s theme centers on patience and awakening as manifested by the end of winter and spring’s arrival.  For more information, click here.

What happens when 30 pounds of glitter explode? A Glitterbomb! Board Member Paul Yandura will show over 50 pieces of outsider art from his private collection.  For more information click here.

Brentwood Arts Exchange (2pm to 4pm)
While the official reception for Show Me What You’re Working With! opened last week, this Saturday is the official artist reception and artist talk.  The group mixed media show was realized in partnership with the Black Artists of DC.  For more information, click here.

Capitol Hill Art League (5pm to 7pm)
Yours truly has been invited to jury the March 2013 Capitol Hill Art League all-media exhibition.  All submissions, with the exception of one, are two-dimensional.  See watercolor, photography, oil painting and even encaustic work on display.

39th Street Gallery (5:30pm to 8pm)
The paintings exhibited in Real and Remembrance derive from the artists’ direct experience with their visual memory and imagination.  Matt Klos guest curated the group show of  “perceptual painters.”  For more information, click here.

Chew it up! is a group show of mixed media work which includes a wide array of non-traditional sculptural pieces as well as a few two-dimensional pieces.  For more information, click here.

Sunday March 10

The Fridge (1pm)
The intimate gallery will host a free screening of the film Style Wars, one of the first movies to document the rise of the New York City graffiti movement.  Style Wars was the winner of Grand Prize Documentary at the 1983 Sundance Film.  For more information, click here.
