This is still tentative, but I spoke with an owner from local taco spot Chupacabra yesterday and he said they hope to be ready for a soft opening this Thursday around 11am. Chupacabra is currently a food truck that serves both traditional, and not so very traditional tacos. The truck originally launched in November of 2011, but everything had been pretty quiet at their brick and mortar spot (on 9th Street, immediately north of H Street) until recently. A new paint job, a new door, and the delivery of tables quickly drew the attention of neighbors who responded by tweeting about the new developments.

One of the partners in Chupacabra is Jason Martin, a local resident, who has also been involved in Rock & Roll Hotel, and Sticky Rice. Here's a picture of a past menu from the food truck.

I was walking past on Friday--they had the door open, so I poked my head in. They were having a "tasting" and offered me a cholupa--tasty :). Also said sometime in the next week for opening. . .
Wow that menu looks amazing!
