4th of July Plans?

Like many of you, I will spend my 4th of July actively avoiding going anywhere near downtown. I typically spend my holiday within walking distance, and focus more on taking in the local fireworks than I do the official display. How are you planning to celebrate? Did you score that much coveted rooftop deck part invite? If not, don't despair. Rock & Roll Hotel (1353 H Street) and the H Street Country Club (1335 H Street) are both hoping you'll spend the evening with them (both have rooftop decks).

The H Street Country Club fun kicks off at 4pm with unspecified food and drink specials. The Rock & Roll Hotel gets off to an earlier start with brunch beginning at 11am. No cover for either of these. More details on the Hotel's 4th plans after the jump.

Brunch Served from 11am – 4pm Bottomless Mimosas and Bloodys 11am – 3pm Happy Hour 5pm – 8pm. Buck off everything, $4 Rails, 1/2 Price Wings $3 PBR Tallboys ALL NIGHT LONG DJs AutoRock & The Metaphysical starting at 8pm on the 2nd floor.

XII also has a rooftop deck which I assume will be open, but they haven't responded to my inquiry, and it's not on their events calendar. Any other notable H Street events on the 4th?

I flee the city. I would recommend that you not leave your car parked on the street. Usually, I head out to my summer home at the shore.
