I just got official word this morning that Sol Mexican Grill & Cantina will open their second floor (the cantina) this Friday. They are located at 1251 H Street. It might pay to stop by a bit earlier this week, as their Facebook mage suggests that the upstairs MIGHT already be open evenings (as of yesterday). The worst that can happen is you walk away with some tasty tacos from downstairs.

I checked out the upstairs last night for their soft opening. Drink specials included a variety of $3 bottles of Mexican beers, including some that are more unique than the usual mix. Also $5 margaritas (didn't try them). The food menu looked authentic (according to my friend who has been to many Central/South American countries and speaks Spanish). Some items did seem a bit pricey and the upstairs overall isn't really that large. There's quite a bit of space out back that's not being used, but that is probably a zoning issue more than anything.
