Exciting news comes our way today from popular ramen house Toki Underground (2nd floor of 1234 H Street). They plan to start lunch service beginning November 4th.
Lunch will be served:
Mon-Sat, 11:30am-2:30pm
First come, first serve

We had a little hint about the Union Market news over the weekend (I mentioned it this morning). Toki will take over a temporary space to serve their shoyu ramen (a soy sauce spiked ramen).
The pop up will run:
Wed-Sat
October 23-November 3
Closed Sundays
Union Market Shoyu Ramen $12
Almost all ingredients sourced from Union Market
Counter Seating Only

While this means they will only have a few seats, it still adds a few more spots to the 23 they have available at their H Street location. BTW, if you haven't tried the associated Maketto pop up at Hanoi House, you really should. It ends October 31st, and it's a terrific chance to sample offerings that might make their way onto the permanent menu at Maketto (1351 H Street) when it opens its doors later this year. I went with friends, and it was a really awesome experience. Totally worth the price. Make your reservations here.

Much of this was originally reported on Don Rockwell's site, but the whole press release went out this afternoon.
