A neighbor posted a disturbing report to a local listserve:
This morning, I was informed by a neighborhood homeless lady that she was attacked Monday Night 12/02/13. She was taken into the alley between 13th & 12th streets NE on the 700 block, which is the alley that runs parallel to H Street. The assault occurred around 2-3 am. She was beaten very badly. Her face is swollen, eye closed, and her arm is broken. That night, she managed to make it to the 7-11 on H street. The police were notified and she was taken to ER.
The author later added:
FYI, she said the attacker was tall, an African American man with a brown completion, and that he wore some type of disguise. He didn’t take any of her things.

Wonder if it was the tranny hooker guy that was wandering into traffic on Florida Avenue and throwing stuff at cars Sunday night while yelling and drinking a malt liquor tall boy. The excessive make up could be considered a "disguise".
The tranny hooker really made Sunday night very interesting. Hope he/she comes back asap!
The t-word and describing someone as a he/she is completely unnecessary and unacceptable.
I'm not really sure why people are making jokes in a thread attached to a post about a woman being savagely beaten.
There was police activity at the end of the 1200 block of I St around Midnight on Monday night as well - anyone know what happened there?
Wasn't trying to make light of the incident and could have phrased better but just pointing out a person potentially fitting the description of the attacker was acting erratically and violent not too far from where this occurred just one night before it happened.
I know this woman. Her name is Angel and she is usually camped out on the corner of 13th and H. I saw her this morning when I was walking home from work and her injuries are horrific. I almost didn't recognize her. When I asked her what happened, she said a bad person tried to hurt her.
She's a very sweet person who always has a cheerful disposition. Whoever attacked her is scum.
